U.S. GAO to Study Effects of Refinery Outages

The U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO) will next month begin a study on how refinery outages, anticipated and unintended, affect fuel prices.
The GAO is doing the study at the request of the entire Connecticut Congressional delegation, which requested the study in May.
The delegation asked GAO to look at how the outages affect fuel prices and if refiners profit from shutdowns.
