OPEC Holds Supply Quotas Firm; IEA ‘Disappointed’
“We have noted with disappointment that the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) members June 8 were unable to agree on the need to make more oil available to the market,” the International Energy Agency (IEA) noted in a statement the same day after the 12 OPEC members announced the failure to agree to raise production quotas during their meeting.

ExxonMobil Corp. has acquired privately held natural gas company, Phillips Resources, and related firm, TWP, Inc., for US$1.7 billion – effectively gaining 317,000 acres for exploration in the Marcellus shale basin, according to a June 8 Reuters report.
